3. The next step they describeis togenerate akey anda certificatesign-
ing request (CSR). If you followed the instructions contained in sec-
tion 3.4.1 on page 50 and 3.4.2 on page 51, you already have a key
(httpsd.key) and a CSR (httpsd.csr). If you did not already
create your key and certificate request, do so now.
4. Go to Thawte’s “Buy an Organizational Certificate” web page at
https://www.thawte.com/cgi/server/step1.exe. SelectWeb
Server Certificate. Click on the Next button at the bottom of the
page.
5. The next page, “Server Cert Enrollment,” is shown as figure 3.10 on
page72. Paste the contentsof yourhttpsd.csr file intothe “Server
Certificate Signing Request (CSR)” text box.
6. Choose Apache+mod sslfromthe“WebServerSoftware”pull-down
menu.
7. Choose how you want to pay for the certificate.
8. Since Red Hat is a Hosting Partner with Thawte, you will receive
$25 off the certificate price, so make sure you type in redhat to the
“Hosting Partner Code” box.
9. Click on Next at the bottom of the page.
10. The next page, also entitled “Server Cert Enrollment” contains the
form you need to fill out and is shown as figure 3.11 on page 73.
Under “Background Information” select a description for your or-
ganization from the pull-down menu, or type your own description
into the text box provided.
11. Ifyou haveaD-U-N-Snumber,typeitinto the textboxunder“DUNS
Number.”
12. Fill in contact information for the person in your organization who
will be signing the authorization letter, as described in section 3.3.2
on page 48.
13. Under “Web Server Administrator,” fill in contact information for
your secure web server’s administrator or your webmaster.
14. Click on the Next button at the bottom of the page.
